At this meeting, we:
- Reviewed new architecture submissions for AFP support of color overprint applications.
- Took the “Metadata Guide for AFP” to consensus status. This means that we have an overall agreement within the Consortium on the conventions to be used when including tagging information in AFP metadata objects. The next step is to refine the definition in preparation for eventual publication.
- Discussed methods for allowing images on top of barcodes in the AFP Architecture.
Other topics discussed at the meeting included:
- Finalization of the ISO 22550 – “AFP Interchange for PDF” document in preparation for publication as an ISO standard. This document incorporates feedback from throughout the certification process and will be the final version the standards body votes on.
- Discussed support for a new AFP finishing option to support devices that trim without folding.
- Worked on plans to make AFP more accessible through tools, publications, and education, including a review of a new AFP Forum prototype.
